Many of Glacier’s backcountry trails pulled me deep into the wilderness, far from the busy viewpoints and visitor areas. On those remote hikes, I often went for hours without seeing anyone, maybe just a handful of other hikers the whole day. It felt like the park opened up just for me. I passed quiet alpine lakes, climbed through high passes, and moved across rugged terrain with only the sounds of wind and water. If you’re looking to disconnect and feel what wild country is like, these trails make it possible.
